No. 7 Ash & Ink

A quiet place for words worth keeping.

A NOTE FROM NO. 7

No. 7 Ash & Ink was made for words worth lingering over—for stories, letters, thoughts, and pages that ask not to be hurried. Consider this a quiet corner away from the noise.

Come in, find something to read, and stay as long as you like.

“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.”

FROM THE DESK OF NO. 7

I created No. 7 Ash & Ink because I wanted to write more—and because I wanted somewhere for those words to belong. Somewhere I could leave stories, thoughts, letters, and pieces of myself without feeling as though they would disappear into the endless noise of everything else. Writing has always given me a way to follow my imagination and say the things that are often much harder to say aloud. No. 7 became the place I wanted those words to come home to.

There is also a more personal reason behind all of this. Somewhere near the beginning was a girl I love very deeply. She made me want to put certain feelings into words—to write about her, to write for her, and sometimes simply to write because loving someone can leave you carrying far more inside your heart than ordinary conversation knows what to do with. Some of what lives here began with that feeling: the desire to take something intangible and give it a page.

But I never wanted No. 7 to belong only to me. I hope it becomes a place where other writers can bring the things they have carried with them, too. Their stories, their strange ideas, their letters never sent, their poems, their worlds, and whatever else they feel deserves a place on the shelf. If you have found your way through the door, then you are welcome here. Read for a while. Write something. Leave a piece of yourself behind.

That, more than anything, is what No. 7 Ash & Ink was meant to be.
